Here’s how to request a recommendation on LinkedIn:

✏️ Cursor down your personal profile to get to recommendations

✏️ Select ‘Ask for a recommendation’

✏️ Type the 1st degree connection you’d like to recommend you

✏️ Select relationship e.g. was a client of yours

✏️ Select the position you’d like to be recommended for

✏️ Then add the text asking for the recommendation.

5 TOP TIPS when requesting a recommendation:

1. Personalise the request

2. Ask for specifics about the benefits they experience

3. Thank the person in advance for their help

4. If you know them well, offer to recommend them too

5. Utilise recommendations you receive on LinkedIn in your other routes to market.
