Dear Fellow Business Owner,
At a friend’s recent dinner party, I was sat next to Kate, a slender, blonde woman. Kate asked me what it was like running my own business and what it took to be successful. I answered truthfully…
I love running my own businesses, in fact I started my first one at the age of 12 and now could never work for someone else.
Being a business owner gives me freedom, unlimited earning potential, constant challenge and means that I can make a difference to others more easily, more often.
Wouldn’t Everyone Be A Business Owner?
That sounds great,” Kate said, “But it can’t be that good, otherwise wouldn’t everyone do it?”
Very true, but self-employment can often mean that you’re the one working the longest hours for initially the smallest reward and the greatest risk.
In smaller businesses it’s likely that you’re also the lonely soul having to get the sales, do the work and chase the bad payers. It takes motivation, dedication and commitment.
The reason that I’m sharing this story is to illustrate that as business owners, we deserve recognition of the passion, purpose and hard work we put in to make our dreams a reality.
Having successfully founded and managed my own businesses, I know first hand what you’re going through.
